Synopsis - The station receives a Cardassian transmission from the Gamma quadrant, they can't decode. Under pressure from Dr. Bashir, Garak reveals it to be a message from former Obsidian Order Head, Enabran Tain. Garak and Worf proceed to the Gamma Quadrant to investigate the source of Tain's transmission, where they are soon captured and discover the real General Martok, along with Tain and a surprise Starfleet prisonner. With Tain dying, Elim Garak tries to convince him to acknowledge his son. While a Dominion fleet heads towards DS9 and an attempt to close the wormhole fails. Meanwhile, Ziyal is disowned by her father, Dukat, for associating with Garak. Also Kira believes the O'Brien baby recognizes her.
